Contact type Plug-in

The plug-in contact is suitable for the connection of withdrawable apparatus. It consists of a number of contact elements of silver-plated copper, set together in pairs with a strong spring in between. The design is carried out to allow a freedom of spring-directed movement in order to make the contact selfadjusting.

Mounting

The plug-in contact is intended to be mounted on a bar with a thickness of 10 mm. The width of the bar is obtained from the ordering table below. For the fastening screws, a hole has to be drilled and tapped in the bar. A bar with the same dimensions and with a rounded or bevelled end is utilized as the male contact.

The plug-in contact has to be fastened with one screw at each side. The screw head is inserted into the guide holes in the frame sides. A suitable screw is for example a M5 hexagon socket head cap screw which has a head diameter of 8 mm. A hexagon head bolt (width across flats 8 mm) can also be used.

The contact element is designed so that the male contact can also be inserted from the side.

Contact force

The contact force, P, is 4 kp at each contact point of each contact pair as in the figur.
